Had a very good conversation with the award winning Manchester photographer Jonathan Oakes. He has amazing facilities in the heart of the city. There are two large studios and catering facilities to match with each able to run separately. All these facilities are to the highest standards and are coupled with additional office and work space.
It is difficult to see in this cost centred world that such facilities could be owned by the current generation who have to look to hiring as a way of responding to tight budget conditions. Minimum capital costs are the current mantra. Inevitably he supplements the photographic business by allowing the studios to be hired both for straight photography and video work.
The encouraging news is that there is still a good level of demand for quality from such highly gifted and reliable professionals.
